Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

boxes steel

finds documents containing 'boxes' or 'steel'

boxes or steel

same as above

boxes and steel

finds documents containing both 'boxes' and 'steel'

boxes not steel

finds documents containing 'boxes' but not 'steel'

(boxes not steel) and wood

finds documents containing 'wood', plus 'boxes' but not 'steel'

gold*

finds documents containing words starting with 'gold'
